Darlington R.A Res v Hartlepool United

Lisa Gibson, 8 March 2009 20:34

Darlngton started the game with a determination to keep the top of the league team at bay with some excellent team play and passing football which saw the Hartlepool goalkeeper having to make some great saves with shots from Vicky Wray and Zoe Cooke,  Unfortunately Hartlepool opened the scoring in the 15th minute but the darlington team pressed on but only to find the woodwork or the hands of the opposing keeper. Hartlepool went on to score two more goals before the break but this didnt stop Darlington playing some excellent football and beating Hartlepool on the break although they were still unable to find the back of the net.

The second half didnt go to well for Darlington they seemed to sit back which left Hartlepool to control the game and they found the net 3 more times before Darlington got their only goal of the game when a Natalie Wrangham cross found new player Judy who calmly converted to score on her debut. Darlington battled hard to try and keep Hartlepool out of there 18 yard box but Hartlepool were well organised and exposed an unorganised Darlington team to score 4 more before the final whistle.
